FAQ

Q: How long have you been open?
A: We opened on May 1st, 2015.

Q: Where can I park?
A: There is metered street parking downtown, which is FREE after 6pm and on weekends.  There is also a parking lot at the back of the building.

Q:  I noticed you have alcohol.  Are kids allowed at the cafe?
A:  Yes, the cafe is an all-ages environment, like a restaurant.

Q: I’ve never been to a board game cafe.  How does it work?
A: For $5/person, you get unlimited play time with our library of over 500 board games.  We have food, snacks, coffee, adult beverages and big tables to play on.  Visit us at the back counter to start a Card Tab and pick up a menu before you start gaming.

Q: Do I have to play games to hang out in the cafe?
A: Gaming is optional.  Just like any cafe, you can pop in for just coffee, a drink, or lunch.  You do not have to pay for gaming unless you are playing games from our library.

Q: What if I don’t know how to play any games?
A: We can teach you how to play!

Q: Do you have any 2-player games?
A: Yes!  We have many 2-player games, solo games, large group games, and everything in between.  Ask our knowledgeable staff to help you pick a game for your group.

Q: Do you sell games too?
A: Yes, we do.  If there is something you don’t see on our retail shelf, you can ask us to special order it for you.

Q:  Should I reserve a table?
A:  We operate on a drop-in basis only, so just come on down.

Q: Can I rent the cafe out for a private function?
A: We want to keep the cafe open to the public and our regular customers.  If you have a large group, please come on down to the cafe and enjoy it during regular hours.  We recommend showing up before 7:30pm to ensure you get enough tables.

Q: Are you a franchise?
A: Nope, we are a locally owned, home-grown business.  There is only one Card’s Board Game Cafe.
